Authentic Japanese Natural Whetstone from Shohonyama, Kyoto

A rare Iromono (Aka-pin, red-hued) stone quarried from Kyoto's Shohonyama area, originally stocked by a long-established Kyoto whetstone shop, a member of the Kyoto Natural Whetstone Association, guaranteeing authenticity and provenance. Displays a warm reddish tone with elegant Karasu (crow-feather) patterns, a classic combination sought after by collectors. Slightly soft, with a smooth, silky feel and refined kasumi finish, especially suited for kitchen knives forged from Shirogami and Aogami steel. Natural suji are visible and may be felt slightly during sharpening, but don't affect performance — a mark of the stone's genuine, unaltered character.
