Natural Whetstone Mikawa Shiro-Nagura 1695g | Made in Japan, Kyoto, Shohonyama
Authentic Japanese Natural Shiro-Nagura from Mikawa, Aichi.
This Mikawa Shiro-Nagura is a beautifully grained natural polishing stone traditionally used during the Uchigumori stage of Japanese sword polishing. Its oversized format, larger than the traditional 24-kiri size, provides a generous working surface and excellent ease of use.
With a medium to medium-hard hardness, it produces a smooth, creamy slurry and creates an elegant kasumi finish. It is ideal as an intermediate or pre-finishing stone for kitchen knives, chisels, plane blades, razors, and Japanese sword polishing.
The surface displays beautiful woodgrain-like natural patterns, making this stone highly attractive both as a practical tool and as a collectible.
