Beneath its naturally weathered exterior lies a high-quality Uchigumori sharpening surface, prized for producing a rich pink slurry and a beautiful misty kasumi finish. Traditionally used for the final stages of Japanese sword polishing, it is also highly regarded for precision finishing on a wide variety of edged tools. To preserve its originality, the sharpening surface has been left in its original unlapped condition, allowing the owner to prepare it according to personal preference.
