This is a vintage 10-piece Japanese Oire Nomi (bench chisel) set by Motomiya Yoshimasa (本宮義政) of Motomiya Chisel Works (本宮鑿製作所) in Echigo Sanjo, Niigata, Japan.
The chisels bear the registered maker's mark 「義政」 (Yoshimasa) and were crafted during the late Showa era, circa 1975–1985.
This complete set features traditional Ooiire (large-socket) construction and well-balanced Akagashi (Japanese red oak) handles. The traditional construction provides excellent balance and control, making these chisels suitable for precise joinery, fine woodworking, and professional use.
The entire set remains unused and has been carefully preserved as long-term vintage deadstock in its original paper-covered box.
