A Tokkyū (special grade), No-Suji (clean surface) stone, it comes in its original signed Paulownia wood box (桐箱) with bold hand-brushed calligraphy reading “Kyoto Nisshōzan Natural Whetstone, Tokkyū Grade.”
The box also retains its original retail price tag of ¥86,400, a testament to its authenticity and high valuation at the time of sale. The stone has been preserved unused, with only minor natural chips from long-term storage.
Hard in composition with strong polishing ability, this whetstone is ideal for finishing razors, knives, chisels, and woodworking planes.
