Shohonyama Red Iromono (Aka-pin) – 1700 g (approx. 203 × 80 × 43 mm) | #30 Thick Cut Soft Finishing Stone

An authentic Japanese Whetstone (Natural Whetstone) from Kyoto’s Shohonyama region, known for its exceptional Finishing Stones (Awasedo) prized by professional sharpeners and collectors alike.
This Rare Stone Red Iromono (Aka-pin) features a gentle reddish tone with faint Karasu (crow-feather) patterns and a soft, slightly cloudy surface that produces a smooth kasumi-style finish.

Soft in hardness, it excels in sharpening kitchen knives and delicate edge tools, providing a pleasant tactile feel and rich slurry generation.
Natural suji (lines) are visible and can be felt during use, but they do not interfere with sharpening performance.
Classified as a #30 thick cut, this stone offers excellent durability and long-term usability.

The surface has been professionally lapped and is ready for use, with the back and sides sealed using Ishisan (traditional water-based protective coating) for stability and preservation.
