Shohonyama Midori-ita Usu-Karasu 3680g – Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone, 30-Kiri Extra-Thick
This is a rare Shohonyama Midori-ita Usu-Karasu natural finishing whetstone from Kyoto, weighing 3680 g.
Its massive body (210 × 80 × 94 mm) is cut in the 30-kiri extra-thick format, ensuring exceptional durability and long-term stability.
The stone features a green base with faint Karasu (crow-like) patterns drifting across the surface. Hardness is medium, providing excellent sharpening feedback, strong polishing power, and a refined finish.
Natural lines (suji) are present but do not interfere with sharpening.
The sides and back have been sealed with Ishisan, a professional water-based protective coating, preventing cracking and water absorption.
