Authentic Japanese Natural Whetstone from Nakayama, Kyoto.
This vintage Tomae Usumidori dates to the 1950s (Showa 30s) and is a rare natural finishing stone with a beautiful light green hue. It still retains the original all-steel hand-saw cutting marks from its processing in the 1950s, adding to its historical character.
Its hard, extremely fine-grained structure provides outstanding polishing performance, crisp yet smooth sharpening feedback, and produces a bright, refined finish. The clean sharpening surface with almost no visible suji makes it ideal for kitchen knives, chisels, plane blades, razors, and other precision edge tools.
