This is a vintage Shohonyama Nakayama Tomae Usumidori natural finishing whetstone (Awasedo) weighing 1035g.

Period: Showa 30s (circa 1955)

Features: extremely fine quality with excellent hardness, ideal as a final finishing stone.

Still retains all-steel hand-saw cutting marks from its original processing in the 1950s.

Condition: very clean, almost no visible lines, excellent preservation for its age.
