This is an authentic Shohonyama Namazu Usu-Karasu natural finishing whetstone (Awasedo) from Kyoto, Japan.

Cut from an old raw block, this stone displays a rare Namazu (catfish-like) texture with faint Karasu (crow) patterns. Its softer hardness provides smooth sharpening with quick slurry formation, producing a cloudy to semi-gloss finish.
The back and sides are sealed with Ishisan (water-based protective coating) for durability and preservation.
