A rare Shohonyama Ōhira Renge Suita natural finishing whetstone (Awasedo), featuring elegant renge (lotus blossom) patterns and producing a beautiful sakura-pink slurry during sharpening.
It offers excellent polishing power with smooth feedback and, in this particular stone, a very subtle perfume-like fragrance can be detected when slurry is raised with water. This distinctive characteristic is found only in some individual stones.
