Ōhira Renge Suita – 538 g (approx. 129 × 58 × 30 mm) | Soft Finishing Stone with Subtle Fragrance
An authentic Japanese Natural Whetstone (Natural Whetstone / Awasedo) quarried from Kyoto’s renowned Ōhira mine, part of the prestigious Shohonyama system.
This Renge Suita (蓮華巣板) features elegant lotus-flower patterns and represents the delicate, soft-touch sharpening feel typical of fine Ōhira stones.
Soft in hardness, it provides gentle, smooth feedback and produces a refined kasumi (misty) finish, ideal for kitchen knives, chisels, plane blades, and razors.
A distinctive feature of this stone is its subtle natural fragrance released when slurry is raised—a rare trait prized by collectors and sharpening enthusiasts alike.
Compact yet highly refined, this stone offers both practical usability and collectible charm.
The back and sides are sealed with Ishisan (traditional water-based protective coating) for long-term stability and protection.
