This is a Japanese Natural Whetstone, a Shohonyama Ōhira Uchigumori (Awasedo) weighing 1695 g.
It is a rare stone, special grade (Tokkyū), and suji-nashi with subtle Renge (lotus) patterns. Traditionally used in the final stages of Japanese sword polishing, this Uchigumori is also excellent for knife sharpening, chisels, and other woodworking tools.
