Authentic Japanese Natural Whetstone from Ōhira Mine, Shohonyama, Kyoto
This authentic Ōhira Uchigumori comes from the legendary Ōhira Mine in Kyoto, Japan. This Tokkyū (Special Grade) extra-thick specimen is exceptionally large, and Ōhira Uchigumori stones of this size and thickness are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Traditionally used for the final stages of Japanese sword polishing, this slightly harder-than-average Uchigumori offers excellent polishing performance, smooth sharpening feedback, and a refined misty kasumi finish. It is suitable for the final sharpening of a wide variety of edged tools.
