An authentic Japanese Natural Whetstone (Natural Whetstone / Awasedo) from Kyoto’s legendary Ōhira mine, one of the most esteemed sites within the Shohonyama region.
This Sō-Renge Suita (総蓮華巣板) features a full-surface lotus-flower pattern (Renge) and offers the soft, responsive feedback that Ōhira Suita stones are prized for.
Soft in hardness, it provides smooth sharpening, fast slurry generation, and a forgiving touch—ideal for kitchen knives, chisels, plane blades, and razors.
When raising slurry, it releases a faint natural fragrance, a refined and rare trait that adds to its charm and collector value.
The back and sides are sealed with Ishisan (traditional water-based protective coating) to ensure durability and long-term preservation.
