Shohonyama Japanese Natural Whetstone — Certified Chō-Tokkyū Super-Grade (1,700g)
Approx. 206 × 74 × 47 mm

An authentic, premium Japanese natural finishing stone from the legendary Shohonyama mines in Kyoto, Japan.

This exceptional vintage specimen bears the prestigious Junhonzan mark, the highly regarded Kyoto Motobetsusen (京都元別撰) label, and the rare Chō-Tokkyū (Super-Grade) certification seal, representing the highest tier of traditional Kyoto natural whetstone selection.

Characterized by its hard composition and extra-fine grain structure, this stone delivers outstanding sharpening performance, crisp tactile feedback, and a beautifully refined Kasumi finish.

Its elegant light grayish-beige surface reveals a subtle purplish hue when wet, highlighting the stone's dense and uniform abrasive structure. The stone has been professionally performance-tested; during preparation, the original seal on the sharpening face was removed during lapping (reference photo included).
