Shohonyama Hideriyama White Suita 1112g | Japanese Natural Whetstone
Thank you for viewing. This is a rare Hakusuita (white Suita) natural finishing whetstone from Hideriyama (日照山), located further west than the Tamba mountain range in Kyoto, Japan.
The quarry has already been closed, and no more stones will be produced.
This stone is slightly soft with a wide sharpening face, making it especially well-suited for finishing traditional Japanese kitchen knives such as Yanagiba and Deba, producing a smooth kasumi (foggy) finish.
