Ōhira Renge Suita 2455g
This is an extremely rare Kuradashi (warehouse-released) Ōhira Renge Suita natural whetstone, quarried from the now-closed Ōhira mine (Shohonzan) in Kyoto, Japan.
Weight: 2455 g, Size: 220 × 81 × 58 mm.
The original Ōhira mine stamp is clearly visible, and the sharpening face is virtually free of suji (natural lines). Released from an old stockpile, this oversized stone is an exceptional find for professionals and collectors.
With medium-hard texture and strong polishing power, it is perfect for finishing Japanese knives, chisels, and plane blades.
The back and sides are sealed with “Ishisan,” a water-based protective sealant, and the sharpening surface is lapped flat and chamfered—ready for immediate use.
