Rare Vintage Kitsune 10-Piece Oire Nomi Set | Betsuatsurae | Gumi Handles | Made in Japan | Unused
This is an exceptionally rare, unused 10-piece Japanese Oire Nomi (bench chisel) set by Kitsune (狐), featuring Betsuatsurae (別誂え / special-order) specifications, Ichimai-Ura (single hollow-back) blades, and distinctive Gumi wood handles.
Approximately 25 years ago, when the owner was an apprentice carpenter in Japan, this particular Gumi-handled Kitsune set was considered a highly desirable tool set. It was eventually acquired and has been carefully preserved as a personal treasure ever since.
The chisels feature traditional Japanese forged construction and Ichimai-Ura (single hollow-back) blades, providing excellent control during sharpening and precise woodworking. The distinctive Gumi wood handles are valued for their durability, resilience, and comfortable feel in the hand.
